A Retrospective Gallery. A Useful Library. Fun Reading.

Dear Planet Waves Readers:

Over the past 25 years of writing astrology nearly every day, I’ve covered the history of contemporary times as it happened, drilled into the mysteries of the past, and tracked the development of the minor planets.

Chiron pioneer Dale O’Brien once wrote (in a Planet Waves article) that journalism is the perfect format for presenting astrology. I think this is because the conventions of journalism require the writer not to assume what the readers know. Journalism must start with the basic facts, stated in plain language.

Here are some of my favorite articles that I thought I would share. They are all open-access and do not require a subscription or registration. Please feel free to pass forward, or enter your comments or questions below.

I know, these should be a book, along with many other articles in their class. If you’re an editor and think that is an appealing project, please let me know. Meanwhile, I offer excellent subscriber services, as well as prepared readings, custom readings and consulting for individuals, couples and businesses.

What if the Moon Landing Happened?
Everyone has wondered if the maybe Moon landing didn’t happen; I wonder if it happened. It turns out that if you’re seeking tangible (if symbolic) evidence, astrology is your best place to go. If you’re looking to do something besides take someone’s word for it, the scientific evidence is sketchy. But the astrology is rather bold in its confirmation of events. Includes discussion of the Kitty Hawk chart.

In Through the Out Door: The Astrology of Monsanto (PDF)
As you may know, I was hurtled into covering Monsanto one drizzly day in late 1991. Many years later, The Mountain Astrologer commissioned me to do a report on Monsanto’s chart, which also included reviewing the company’s history.

It’s All in the Houses (PDF)
If you want to understand astrology, start with the houses. They are fun and easy, and you already know most of it. Another classic from The Mountain Astrologer, this article covers the history of the houses, their practical use, and also gives a concise explanation of what they are about. I have another article on how to work with houses cusps and also how to resolve the bogus controversy over “whole sign houses.”

Notes from Downwind
About a year after Fukushima, I wrote a retrospective of the technical and environmental issues. Then I covered in detail the original chart of the nuclear age, the first atomic reaction (called the Nuclear Axis chart). That chart is once again active, now that Saturn is in Pisces (it’s all about Saturn and the mutable signs, with some help from the Aries Point).

Beyond the Veil: Minor Planets in Astrology (PDF)
I consider this one of my most informative articles ever, a retrospective of the minor planets from the discovery of Ceres in 1801 through Eris in 2005. You will learn how to delineate, read, and work with asteroids, centaurs and other classes of minor planets. Includes many excellent chart examples. Easy to follow!

You Are Who You Are — The “Thirteenth Sign” Hoax Explained
Every now and then, so-called scientists like to punk astrology by saying that our zodiac is “wrong.” This boldly exhibits their lack of classical knowledge (the Greeks divided the wheel into 12) and also the history of astrology (the tropical zodiac solves the problem of precessional movement, and times our readings to the seasons). This article includes fantastic interviews with both Rob Hand and Jonathan Cainer, two of my best teachers. Learn the true history of the “thirteenth sign hoax.”

Don’t Look Back: China and the Astrology of January 2020
The Saturn-Pluto conjunction of January 2020 was followed by the first Pluto-Eris square later that month. Plenty ensued. This article integrates my knowledge of what happened in China in early 2020 with astrological events at the same time. I make no assumptions here, tracking events day by day.

Eric

The PDF for the minor planet article isn't downloading for me, it just hangs, then loops back to the starting point. No problem with the others. Can you tell me if I can find this on your site, and/or another solution.
