Is anyone well-read on Easter Island or related topics? I am working on a delineation of the minor planet Makemake, a trans-Neptunian object in the Kuiper Belt, discovered 2005.
here is a paragraph I found in an article of National Geographic's German website, translated with DeepL:
The nearly 900 stone-carved human statues are scattered across the flanks of the island's extinct volcanoes. The figures average 4 meters in height, weigh 14 tons, and appear to have been carved from the soft volcanic tuff rock found at the Rano Raraku quarry. There are more than 400 other statues there in various stages of construction. Some completed statues are waiting to be transported to their destination.
Hi Eric. Hope all is well. I am currently living my retired dream based in Cambodia, with jaunts to other parts of Asia for exploring, roaming, experiencing. Currently finishing up 6 months in South India.
In a medical perspective Easter Island is quite interesting because of this culture that was isolated from the soil there and is profound in its ability to help with organ rejections, immune system rebalancing, anti aging, etc.
A significant number of front line anti aging docs use it in their protocol or stack. Studies show it is extending life span significantly in animal studies and the thought is that it is doing the same for humans by regulating the mTOR/AMPK pathways. I am not a scientist so don’t understand it fully but I will start to take a micro dose once my body tattoo is finished.
I'm not well- read on Easter Island, but I've listened to lots of interviews with Boston University geology professor, Dr. Robert Schoch, who is kind of an expert on Easter Island. Though I could be mistaken, I thought that in one of the interviews he mentioned that many thousands of years ago the ocean levels were much lower and there might have been a quarry that is now under the ocean. Here's his site:
And here he questions whether the script in Easter Island is related to plasma events in the sky thousands of years ago: https://robertschoch.com/sida.html
Makemake could be related to how an entity is made immortal, remembered, or surviving as an idea/concept. Steve jobs has Jupiter conjunct Uranus and Makemake. The chart of John Lennon's assassination had Fortune conjunct Makemake. In addition, on 6/13/2023 11:39 AM EDT (first mentioned on twitter) , when Treasury Secretary Yellen mentioned a slow decline of USD's reserve currency status, Makemake opposed Mercury in U.S. (Sibly) tertiary progression chart.
Orbital Period 309.00 yr., 2nd brightest KBO (Pluto #1), 1,250 km diameter? From Rapa Nui. Pronounced maki-maki.
Positive: Articulate and ultra-communicative. Self-assuredness, especially by verbal means. Clever, quick-witted and interested in invoking insight and inspiration with speech. Quick to report findings, regardless of impact. Courageous, possessing the willfulness to confront the peril required for discovery or spiritual evolution. Conscious of family security and safety. Protection of the brood.
Negative: Cunning and verbally manipulative. Double talk. Diversion of facts. Declaring false findings (laying an egg, so to speak). Taking flight to avoid consequence. Hiding as a coping skill. Reckless. Disregard for safety of the home. Self-serving.
Mundane: Data collection to support a doctrine or cause. Books, especially those of multi-cultural interest. Translation especially with a cross-cultural theme. Cultural synthesis. Integration of tasks. Computer iterations and/or algorithms. Dissemination of information whether true or false. Split second decisions. Lightning fast assessment. Fertility and fertility procedures. Birds. Fans. Eggs. Creeds. Documents of self declaration - affirmation statements, bios or autobiographies, a feather in one’s cap, selecting a safe location for nesting.
Ceremonial: Incantations. Oral remedies for healing. Meditations to unify the minds of several. Isolation for ceremonial purposes. Shamanic retreat. Cave ceremonies. Ceremonies involving hair cutting. Personal acceptance of one’s cause and karma. Ceremonies involving the use of feathers or eggs (feather fans, Eagle feather cleansing, the egg diagnostics of curanderos and curanderas - common in Ecuador, one of Rapa Nui’s neighbors).
I'm sure you will have read Thor Heyerdahl's description of his 1956 expedition to Easter Island, in his book entitled Aku Aku. (and others). It certainly contains references to the bird people and bird gods, although I don't recall the name Makemake coming into it, per se, but that might be my lack of recall. I think he makes some guesses re the stone as well. My mind suggests links to waaaaay earlier days, even before pre-history, and civilisations long since gone. Stitchin's work et al might offer ideas also - but as for anything more concrete, sorry! It's intriguing that Makemake is a new arrival into the isolated history.
I've been to Rapa Nui twice. The moai were all made at a quarry on the island known as Rano Raraku. If you google images of it, you can find pictures of some that were never finished and remain there in the rock.
Makemake -- "let the games begin"

And another link to an article on the moai statues that says:
All the energy and resources invested in the moai, which are up to ten meters high and weigh more than 80 tons, come from the island alone.
