Eris, the planet of social chaos and tribal identity, is met by the self-aware presence of Chiron. It will be a rude awakening for some. It's a transcendent moment for others.
All conjunctions blend two different energies. To understand the conjunction, the distinct identities of each planet involved need to be teased out. And sometimes it’s good to check the past history of such meetings, if that can be sussed out.
Chiron is an awakening principle. Eris is a chaos principle. Chiron individuates; Eris tribalizes. Their meeting could have a wide diversity of effects for whoever experiences it, and will have noticeable collective effects that feel like a mass uprising of some kind, whether helpful or not.
We do have some experience with this one within living memory.
Because Eris takes so long to go through Aries, this will be the second Chiron-Eris conjunction in Aries in our epoch. The first was in 1971-1972, which spawned a kind of “second 1960s” that is often confused with the first. We witnessed the tension between these two qualities. There was at once a rise of individualism and also of the tribal, faux individualism called “identity politics” that we are still dealing with today. Confusion between true-self and group identity created quite a bit of confusion.
However, the problem of this happening under the kind of disembodied conditions that we have today is that violence would be a natural go-to. When people feel like they don’t know who they are, and experience being out of body and out of mind, they often set out to make some discoveries by attacking someone. This is true of individual people and of nations. It’s true of the wars on Twitter and the current wars in West Asia and Eastern Europe.
Chiron has been in Aries since 2018. Chiron is distinctly individualistic, contrasted with Eris, which seems to have a tribalizing effect — taking people out of their inner sense of being and making it seem more comfortable to be surrounded by a supposed affinity group. This is often a demonstration of false self-confidence.
The combination of Chiron and Eris in Aries offers the opportunity to push back against the power of the psychic digital envelope for the first time. The power of individual consciousness meets the power of mass consciousness with the alignment of these two forces. In 2016 and 2017 there were a series of conjunctions between Uranus, which often represents groups, and Eris — this only seems to have made matters worse.
While I have commented much about Eris in Aries standing for electrical and digital conditions, it is interesting to note that at the time the Gutenberg printing press was invented, said to be around 1440, not only was Eris in Aries but there was also a conjunction of Chiron and Eris that very year. Until electricity took over, there was no more profound impact on intellect and culture than the Gutenberg press. It is fair to say that where humanity meets technology, keep your eye on Aries.

I became aware of Chiron during my Chiron return ten years ago, when an astrologer told me I had the opportunity for a spiritual awakening. While I'm not sure that's what ensued, it was an excruciatingly painful time, during which I reexamined my passions, choices, and purpose. The pain continues to this day, yet, at the same time, I feel more vibrant and alive. Thanks, Eric, for cluing us into the opportunity offered by the Chiron/Eris conjunction to clear the digital fog from our minds and souls.
Well, the real revolution took place between the Czar's overthrow in March 1917 and the Bolshevik seizure of state power the following November, It was carried out by actual communists (who opposed a centralized state), anarchists, and just plain workers, farmers and military rank and file who worked via social entities such as workplace committees, mass assemblies and local/regional "soviets" (councils) to reshape society into something new which they could control and which would provide for their material needs outsides the confines of the previous social system. These entities were all disempowered by the Bolsheviks after the seizure o state power, a move which was further facilitated by the Western powers which intervened starting in July, 1918, trying to reinstate the Czar's regime via the "White" army they created and supplied.

A very valuable volume also (arguably definitive) is Rabinowitch “The Bolsheviks in Power”, covers mostly the first year of Bolshevik government:
“Drawing largely from previously inaccessible Soviet archives, it demolishes standard interpretations of the origins of Soviet authoritarianism by demonstrating that the Soviet system evolved ad hoc as the Bolsheviks struggled to retain political power amid spiraling political, social, economic, and military crises…”
Well, some was ad hoc, but a lot was predetermined, prefigured in Lenin's writings on the subject, e.g. What Is To Be Done, and public pronouncements such as identifying socialism as being synonymous with state capitalism, and seeing the German army and Ford assembly lines as being models for a socialist society to emulate.
Continuing the note focusing especially on Chiron, my book ALCHEMICAL TANTRIC ASTROLOGY makes a true connection between the Tantric Yoga Chakras and the astrological signs and planets, especially the ruling planets.
Chiron can be associated with several signs, but most notably in my arrangement, Chiron's 50 year cycle places him between Capricorn/Saturn's 29 and Aquarius/Uranus' 42/84 cycles and the first or Root Chakra. There is also a connection to this cusp between Winter and Spring and Kundalini Rising. Barbara Hand Clow, who really liked my book, wrote similarly about the Rising of Kundalini and these three planets, Saturn, Chiron and Uranus.
